As I did every morning, I got in my car. Seeing my neighbors morning routines, and the newspaper boy; they went about their business. I drove down to the end of my street and turned the corner, until a seemingly endless roadblock of at least 25,000 Las Vegas cops stopped me. From the perspective of my dinky Toyota the blockade of cops on either side of the road stretched for miles across the deserts brown flats. Blue and red lights stretched across the mountain like a snake and its shimmering pattern. The police men stood two apart staring into oblivion, positioned in front of each police car, they were brave of their city, but were motivated by their pensions. I couldn't believe my eyes, as the massive road block looked like a traffic jam, instead the police were looking for something, something that 25,000 cops would each need to look for. There was no news of the cause of the road block, nor did the cops create any noticeable noises during setup. My neighborhood acted as they normally did oblivious of the spectacle. I approached the beginning of the roadblock and the duet of cops both snapped out of their frozen state into inspectors. The cop to the left of my car spawned to my presence, and lifted his pitch black sunglasses into his hair as he thoroughly inspected the inside of my car. I asked him as to why this monstrous roadblock was setup, and he responded "Continue, Please", in a deep and authoritative manner.
I was directed to the next duet of cops, they too, both immersed in an deep state of concentration approached my car in an suspicious manner. He asked me if I had seen any unusual people walking around my neighborhood and I responded in a quizzical affirmative manner "No?". In response "Thank You". In the same routine as before I was directed ahead and interrogated, yet this time, they vigorously searched my car. In a unrecognizable police lingo the duet of cops communicated back and forth, radioing ahead units as if they were preparing custom searches for individual cars. In a state of complete paranoia, and panic, the cops directed me further into the blockade. Completely confused as to what was happening, and what they were searching for I consistently asked the cops, but received no information.
3 hours into the seemingly endless investigation I noticed a group of 20 men dressed in Blue Hazardous Materials suits grouped together picking something extremely dangerous up. They placed into a huge metal tube affixed to an 18 wheeler, on the yellow tube was a bio hazard symbol. The police men continued about their investigations but were wearing gas masks with two glass peepholes on either side. A long metal cylinder jetted from the bottom of the mask. Focused on the obvious dangers of the hazards surrounding me I didn't notice the imminent greater hazard until a giant flash appeared on the horizon. Smoke billowed from the flash and when settled exposed the disastrous site, a giant black hole, but quickly approaching a clear distortion in light like a mirage slammed the cops and immediately incinerated them into ash from the powerful aftershock and deadly gamma rays. My windshield went black and I realized I was about to die, waiting for the next big explosion, I turned on the radio to my favorite rock station trying to avoid the sound of death, as an unknowing peaceful death would certainly be better. But minutes passed and nothing happened, curious I opened my door and discovered all the cops were gone, but everything remained as it had before the aftershock. Tired, confused, and full of anxiety I fell asleep in the back of my car. Minutes it seemed, a tap alerted me, I peered up to look out of my windshield and a group of at least 4 people were surrounded around the car. A huge surge of relief filled rushed through my head, I immediately opened the door and jumped out, but only to discover the "people" were not humans, rather the other life-form that scientists had thought existed in the endless regions of space was standing right before me, a monumental discovery, but its unknown repercussions as to what the life forms came to earth for, haunted me.
